I like Genkai - Seemingly being one of the few GUYS voting on here **grumble** I think I may be able to vote clearheaded without being swayed by how a character looks. I like Toguro, because he is the most interesting of the villians in the series. Despite his immense power, he was the most weak of all the characters in that he left eveything he had because he was afraid of getting old and weak. But he finally showed some courage when he was about to walk into hell and accepted his fate, even when Genkai tried to stop him.

Why do I like . . .
Hiei - His cold attitude towards everything and most of all, he has the best attacks (to me) out of all 4 of the main characters. Jaou Ensatsu Kokuryu Ha (Black Dragon Wave) kicks so much ass!!!!!

Botan - she is so cutee!!!!!!!i like her because that she is relaxed.I like to be like her just to be her even if she is a bubble brained woman.i am like her to bubble brained too.her pink eyes makes her look so cool.any other dress can fit her with her lightblue hair and her pink eyes (the right combination for me.) even i like yusuke too .everyone who thinks like me could be like botan.i like her name too.means flower beauty ilike a flower name too maybe i want to be called lilyflower.i want to have a pony tail and a hair as long as her.i like everything that she had and she has now.- katrina p.
Kurama - I like Kurama as Kurama not by just his looks but also by his attitude. He is friendly and a quiet-type guy but deep inside, you will believe with me, he is truly a violent *I belive because of hi Yohko form*. Kurama, an incredible person is an outstanding person. I idolize him *even worships him like a god!*. I really want him badly that some of my classmates thinks that if I *could* see him, I will be dead... I feel I am not alone whenever I only see him in cards, posters but I think he is with me all the time.....- Kurama27
Kurama - The thing that struck me about Kurama is his eyes. He has got the kindest eyes. As a human, he is almost too good to be true - he is compassionate, incredibly intelligent (it's so refreshing to see a bishounen with brains!), easygoing and funny. Just when you think he can't get anymore perfect, he turns into Youko Kurama and suddenly you realize that he's got flaws after all, and a past he may not necessarily be proud of. He may be half-demon, but he's so HUMAN.- Amis
Kazuma Kuwabara - I was completely frowned by one of the fans, her favourite character is Kazuma as well.... I like the was he thinks about things, how important friendship, family and people are for him. He is not good looking nor intelligent, in fact he is the dumbest and useless among the four of them, but he is also the only character who made me cry in the series. Remember when he thought Yusuke was killed by Sensui, Toguro brothers? When he first fighted Uramashi? He was so happy when Yusuke remembered his name; although knows that he can't win yusuke, kurama or hiei, however, he never gives up. The way he tries his best to protect Yukina, his sister, he was worried when his sister was missing after fighting toguro, talking to Sakyo. He brings love to the series like Urameshi.... he brings hope like all the other main character does.... he is great- Itsuki
Botan - I like Botan because she's the deity of death and she's soo cute and she's the one who summons/ calls the guys(Kurama, Hiei, Yusuuke, and Kuwbara) besides, it would be boring w/o her around-
Itsuki - Because he's content to love (Sensui) and not be loved in return. Because he's patiently waiting for the time when his love will be returned, and because he admires a human because of that human's attributes.-
Hiei - Hiei is just cool. He is strong, quick, look cold-blooded, but has a warm heart. His friendship with Kurama just touch everyone's heart. When he was angry, he is unstopped. And his smile after victory strengthen his strong will to win and destroy his enemy.- Hiei in reality
Botan - Botan is cute, kind, funny, and she can fly too!!! She is somewhat naive and speak her mind without concealing anything and that's also a reason why I like her. And she looks so ... relax like she doesn't have a problem at all (maybe it's because of her big cute eyes) .And she has a good relationship to others too !! Hiei - He is the coolest of all! His quickness and power of the black dragon wave is a killing combo. His attitude is also fantastic, especially when he is taunting Kuwabara. His past is also impressive (not so impressive as the past of Kurama but...). I think Hiei is the strongest fighter. Yusuke? After Hiei learned the black dragon, they haven't fight another battle, well they had only one real battle, that is the most important reason that Hiei is the strongest (I think).He is strong, fast and funny too, what else do you want?- Drake

Hiei - I like Hiei because he has the coolest attack.He Just shouts Jaou Ensatsu Kokuryu Ha.He is the best among the 4 main characters(well to me).And he is sometimes cold hearted and mean.Well I like that kind of characters.- amanda
Kurama - because he is spiritual and calm, and yet can be emotional. He is an amazing fighter and knows when to be quiet and when it is important to speak. So yeah, that, and he's drop dead fine!- Evale Strife
Kazuma Kuwabara - He doesn't have a lot going for him: he's not really bright, he's not a superman like Yuusuke, he has no demon ancestry like the others. I remember in the first tournament he asked why Yuusuke got Reigun when all he developed was a sword. From the beginning to the end, he's consistently the weakest character out of the main four, but it never stops him from going all-out and throwing himself at his obstacles with everything he's got. I also like his ethics. He thinks he has a duty as a man to uphold his promises, and to fight his own battles, no matter how close he might comes to dying. He refuses to fight women out of principle. I also think it's cool that he's smitten with Yukina, because he chases her with the same enthusiasm that he does everything with. Oh yeah, and he may not be the thinker like Kurama, but he studies hard!- Justin
Kazuma Kuwabara - kuwabara's the other favorite of mine. i believe he's wildly underestimated by a lot of people. sure, he's kinda dumb and maybe doesn't know how to fight as well, but that's part of his charm. i like his personality; he acts tough, but he's really a kind and honorable guy. and he's quite funny.- Schmillian
Kurama - That silver youko in human disguise is my favorite character of all and I LOVE him ^^ he's so mysterious and cold and cruel and at the same time friendly with his friends, just don't try to approach to him when he's angry... *oh, scary* as he said: "the price for making me angry is heavy" He's so gorgeous and smart and those eyes are facinating, who wouldn't fall for him with his sensual and charming nature! ^^- Kuramachan
Kuronue - I guess that it's because he's just such a cool guy; the type of friend you'd like to hang around (or at least I would). He was a really good friend of Youko's (if only he hadn't died -sigh-), and pretty much sacrificed his life for Kurama's ('forget about me and run!'). So even though he seemed pretty heartless and like just another demon, he was actually a cool, caring, and all around nice guy. He didn't look half bad either!-
Hiei - Because he likes to be alone like me, he's cute, smart, able to communicate with people from million miles by using his eye (another at the top), he loves his sister,he act fast and think fast.I like Kurama too but i like Hiei the best!- Keiko
Kurama - He's intellegent and one who really knows how to use his knowledge. He's always calm, think about thing three times more than normal ppl. On the other hand, his inside self is full of passion and desire.. just like when he turns to Yukuo... a very cool character, my favorite- Gum
Kurama - I love Kurama because he's so kind and nice...he's also the only one who knows how Hiei can react so I think it's funny. Ok I love Hiei too but Kurama is cuter and he's serious and when he's angry watch out!!! I love roses too so if he was real I'd wish he gave me a rose of course. Yuusuke Urameshi - He is the most powerful of all!!! Why?he can turn to majiin Yusuke at any time.& I wont forget that he is one of the masters of the spirit wave.The spiritgun, shotgun & more.This my true hero. And I wish that he is for real!! Kurama - Kurama is the best student in a very famous high school. He is normally calm, polite, friendly and nice as long as you don't angry him, when he is angry, he'll become very cold and cruel. And Kurama Cares about his human mother very much, at the begining of the story, he stole a mirror from Reikai because his mother, Shori, is dying.- Melody Fung
Koenma - I like Koenma because, hmmmmm. He's cute when he looks like a toddler sucking on a pacifier and he gets really cute, i mean REALLY cute when he's mad or furious.When he's in Ningenkai, he turns into a teenager although he's age is 700 years old (Wow!^_^ ). Yuusuke Urameshi - He's so cute!!! Plus, he's the main character. If it weren't for him, the demon world would've probably collided with the living one. It's his job to prevent this into happening. It's like one of those greek myths about gods playing with human beings, only YYH is of asian culture, and much more exciting, of course. Oh, and Yuusuke uses the most kewlest weapon: the rei-gun.- anne_archer
Kurama - Kurama is a good looking guy (his silver hair.....)with such a nice personality. He is also very intelligent and I really admire his ability to think under any condition. All these combined, what more can a girl want in a guy? ^__^- Just another Kurama girl-fan
Hiei - Because he is the fastest and has a cold-blooded look, always. He also has the most powerful and eye-catching moves. I like this type of character in particular, Vegeta is my favorite character in Dragon Ball Z.- Tony Fan

Kurama - I like Kurama because he looks extremely cute. Kurama is like an ironic character to me, too! When he is transformed into a silver fox, he reveals his cold shelf (^_^), and he was... kind of ... violent. On the other hand, when he is a human, he shows a gentle heart with some sense of humor. Another reason why I like Kurama is because he gets good grades at school. Ahh... I wish I am him... Hiei - Well, lets just say that I have a thing for short, spiky haired guys with a cocky attitude. No, my reasons are way more than that. I love Hiei because he is so cool and he is so cute and he's strong and he cares for his friends very much even Kuwabara and I think it's really sweet that he really really cares the most for Yukina. But the strange thing is, I had a dream where I was pregnant with Kurama's child but that's okay because I love Kurama too.- Mayumi
Yuusuke Urameshi - His almost too careless character and yet survives most of his battles. Although he has careless decisions, he has a fully motivated spirit that makes him go through all of the hardships he expiriences.- Jayson Soliman

Koenma - mostly because of his attitude towards Sensui. I think we underestimate the deep compassion and understanding he pocesses. He would have died with Sensui in the cave had not Yuseke stopped him. He really cares about his "rekai tansei"- Itsuki
Kazuma Kuwabara - Unlike Yuusuke who has the blood his father, unlike Hiei and Kurama that already have strong powers in the beginning, Kuwabara is the only character who starts from zero to hero. I like him, because he is normal. None of us have the talent to be good... we need to learn...- Sauron

Hiei - I don't know; I was drawn to the anime by Kurama's looks but MAN... I just fell in love with Hiei!!! Nope, there was no warning whatsoever, I just woke up one day and suddenly fell in love with the ornery fire demon. Hiei - You can catches kindness in his eye if you look closely. He had his courage to be with his friend. Yuusuke Urameshi - Yuusuke and Kuwabara are always so underrated. *sighs* Yeah, Kurama 'n' Hiei are my favorites, but these two guys deserve a little more credit, ne? I mean, Yuusuke's the _hero_ of the series! Kazuma Kuwabara - Because Kuwabara know about true love and he gets energy from love-
Kurama - Kurama is cute, smart, powerful, of course, but he's also sensitive and what struck me the most about him is his fine physique and fashion sense. Most guys don't actually seem to have a fashion sense, but he does, and that's obvious in the way he dresses. I also like the contrast between him as a human, and him as a youko. Another thing which I find a little peculiar about him, but still like, is the fact that he hides things in his hair. Interesting that he can control plants, too.- Cynthia
Yuusuke Urameshi - I like Yuusuke, cuz he's cool. I own one of the comic books (in color) and in the back are black and white drawings of all of the characters. There was this one really good pic without gel in his hair and wearing normal clothing, he is really hot in that pic. Hiei - Used to drool over my Kurama posters, but since I started viewing YYH as more than just a TV show, I realized there was art within Hiei. It was superficial beauty, like say Kurama or Itsuki. Hiei was live art, pulsing right out of the TV screen, straight at my face. The cold-blooded killing efficiency juxtaposed with the anguish of his personality (which he hides from all save perhaps Kurama) add dimension to his character that ultimately beats all the others, artistically and critically speaking. Kurama - Well I hate to join the flock of female Kurama fans- but it's not because he's cute. Number one- Foxes in general are COOL- so the same goes for people that were formerly fox spirits. Shinobu Sensui - Personally, I love Kurama and Hiei the most. But I also love Sensui. He is not really so bad. He just cannot believe that when he tries to defend the humans from all kinds youkais , some youkais are totally defenseless and are killed by men. His pity toward the youkais became his major weakness and made him want to do something for it. He choose the wrong way. But basically he is a very good man with a good heart.- Judy
Kurama - As I started reading Yuu Yuu Hakusho, I had fell in love with Kurama on the first sight. His appearance and personality had attracted me so much. He is the best character that I have ever read. Nobody can beat his intelligence. Rose Whip is the most beautiful weapon in the world. Hiei - I know a lot of Hiei fans fall for him for his looks and his attitude. And to be honest, his look and his "i don't care about u at all" attitude is very attractive. However despite of those angry crisom eyes and cute cute sleeping face, there are more of Hiei that make me love him. To me he is fragile, a fragile kid with a terrifying past, trying find a way to survive in the harst enviroment of Makai. He chose to hide himself. Building brick walls around himself, not letting anyone come close to his heart. And as the story proceeds, we learn more about him, see him change and melt down by his peers. To me, he is like a precious juwel that is fragile and need to be cared and loved more than any one in the story. He, is afterall, just a goodwilled child.- Cloudedge
Minamino Shuichi - I prefer him in his human form, but i always voted for Kurama instead of Shuuichi, (dunno why) I think he is so much better in this form, so much more attractive. At least, he matches with Hiei mor ein this form!:P He is too tall in his Youko form (i think) and too cold as well.- Itsuki

Hiei - Hiei reminds me a lot of Vegeta (from Dragon Ball). Vegeta is kewl and so is Hiei. They both have kewl attitudes and they both have even kewler attacks. One of my favourite fights involving Hiei is the time when he fought that guy in the tournament who could heal himself by sucking the smoke from his capsules (I don't know his name). Well, I was playing rather badly with Sensui, I chose Yuus, and decided that we're a team after all!-
Hiei - I like Hiei because he's a _very_ interesting character (his looks don't hurt, either! ^_-). His past is something that's lots of fun to dig around in ('specially if you're a fanfic writer, like me ^_-), and I love his voice. *grins* And I happen to think dragons are cool, so his Kokuryuuha is my favorite YYH attack, hands-down. ^_^- WhiteCat-chan
Hiei - Why do I like Hiei? I don't think I need to say much, since everyone who likes Hiei has said what I wanted to say! (Not mentioning some VERY... expressive comments! Just Kidding!) Hiei is a VERY cute and cool person. I guess why so many people like him (including me!) is because of the two reasons I've mentioned. I mean, isn't that what a girl would want from a man?- Rose
Kurama - Kurama is the coolest!!!! He's the funniest character, not to mention the cutest. Besides Hiei, he's the most mysterious person. He also is really hot when he changes to youko form (that silver hair is sooooooo beautiful!!!)- Hino Rei-chan

Jin - Hmmm ... well, let's see. He's got a good sense of humor (joking around right before going into a battle - wotta guy! ^_^), and he's cute, too. ^_^ (Love the horn! And the hair!) And since the guy who does his voice - Yamaguchi Kappei - is my absolute favorite seiyuu ... hey, what more could a fan want? ^_^- WhiteCat-chan
Hiei - I like Hiei because he is simply the best one. He is a brill fighter, he has a gorgeous voice, lovely eyes, a magnificant body and.................. he is completely and utterly.........SEXY!!!!!!!!!!- Delia
Yuusuke Urameshi - This is one of the more interesting main characters I've encountered. He has depth, and I thought he was a good character from the begining. It's rare for me to like the main character of a series more than any of the minor characters, and this Kurama cult really annoys me because of that.- Daniel Sutton
Kurama - Kurama is my all-time favorite charater, he's very intelligent, and always calm. Hiei - I like Hiei!!! !When i first time took a glimpse of that book,i like that book although i haven't read it yet.And when i read,i saw Hiei and instantly fall in love with him.I LOVE Hiei because he's cute,rather grumpy,like to hide his hand in his trouser's pocket,does'nt like having his picture by camera(i notice this when the picture took,he look another way,not to the camera),he's hard willing,like to stand around on top of some building(in the human world)and he also strong,swift and intelligent.- Ami
