I like Kiminobu Kogure - Though he is the vice-captain of the team, he plays a role in leading the team to gain their moral and the team spirit to continue the game. He practises hard and finally managed to score a 3-point ball in one of the matches. He is simply the best!

Why do I like . . .
Haruko Akagi - She is cute and funny! She doesn't even know Sakuragi likes her, but looks at Skuragi as a friend, not as her "LOVER"! Ha! Poor Sakuragi! Anyway, I still think Haruko is a pretty girl, I think many guys may fall in love with her, just to see her big and sparkling eyes, just like Sakuragi! So, what can I say? Pretty girl, every guys' target! Right?

Hanamichi Sakuragi - I like him because of his attitude. He never gives up even when facing better player than him .Deep inside he has the srongest will to win .He is also very funny and he is deeply in love with Haruko.- Dickson
Akira Sendoh - He takes thing easy, he's darn cool and relaxed. Unlike Rukawa, he is not single minded and has a life outside of basketball. And of course, that laid back charm ^v^-
Kaede Rukawa - He's not the best looking guy. Alittle too pale but I love his attitude. He's cool, and uses his mind when he plays basketball. Whenever the other team bring out their secret weapon he is the one to find the flaw in him. He's not egotistic like some, or easily distracted as some. And most of all I find him funny (in a subtle type of way) how he's always falling asleep, and calling people (especially Sakuragi) an idiot (right use for the situation). Oh, and he's tough I mean can U name NE1 else that been hit on the head but Sakuragi and still stands? Those are the reasons why I like the guy.- V1
Akira Sendoh - He is a neat person. I like how he can me calm and conserve his energy when needed. And though he likes competition he is not obsessed with winning. He looks good and is kinda funny. Kaede Rukawa - I like him for main reasons. His calmness is to be admired, he's smart and whenever the team is down he finds a way to get them back up. And he's an amusing character. Falling asleep all the time at the most unappropriate places. They should talk about him more. And last thing I DISAGREE with all those who says he doesn't like Hanamichi, he does but just doesn't admit it because Hanamichi is egotistic enough the way he is!!!!- Lis

Kaede Rukawa - i admire his commitment to basketball.besides, he is a very consistent player who never loses his cool in matches. he is a fighter who never gives up. although most people claim that Rukawa has no personality, whatsoever, this could be due to his reserved nature (attributed to a lack of interpersonal skills!). anyway, he is more a man of action than words, and that's what i like aout him! you are always no. 1 in my heart, Rukawa!- RK fan
Akira Sendoh - Sendoh will always be the best basketball player with his skills and determination. He has great skills for for every pass, dribble and slam dunk he does. His pleasure and enjoyment for basketball is always in high levels. His intellgence is physically and mentally displayed by his performance in every game. Shinichi Maki - he's so handsome and he has the skills of rukawa, fujima and sendoh! if you look back in chapter 14,15,16,17 you will see that he beat rukawa, sendoh and fujima he's so cool, relax, good tempered and he's desire to win is incredible! i dont know why not many people likes maki but in my heart he's the greatest basketball player in slam dunk.the way he plays the game is like m.jordan!- hkamarudin
Shinichi Maki - I don't think it's right to describe Maki-san as handsome, cool or this kind of words.Those are rather vulgar. He is not only an experienced player, but a mature and thoughtful person as well. Maki-san hasn't many chances to be in the limelight in Slamdunk as he is just a supporting role, but in all fairness, he excels both Sendoh and Rukawa at playing basketball. And in normal time he also behaves not like some frivolous guys. He neither does childish things nor talks worthless talk.That's one of the reasons for my admiring him, too. Kaede Rukawa - Kaede Rukawa is the man who never stop improving himself. Although he has already been the best player of his team, he still practises hard everyday to become the best player in Japan. He has his own personality. He doesn't talk if necessary. He thinks everything clearly in his own way but without speaking (especially in interpersonal problems). And he sees a man very equitably, even the man is the one he doesn't like. For example, though he doesn't like Hanamichi, he still praised Hanamichi in the moment of truth to encouraged him. Kiminobu Kogure - Mr Glasses! He's always have nice things to say about others. Although he doesn't play much, he offers his team mates lots of support. When Hanamichi received special training from Takenori Akagi after Shohoku lost to Kainan, Kogure volunteerily stayed back with them after school to practise with them.- Shirley
Akira Sendoh - Because he is kind, full of smile, easygoing, gentle, cool, I like his manhood. Who knows that behind all of his relaxed type of character, there is an awesome basketball talent? Kenji Fujima - I like him because although he is the coach and of a higher post than his teamates, he treats them well and trusts them. He serves as a sourse of security for his teamates and will only play when Shoyo is in trouble. He has never let his team down and it was a pity they had to lose in the semi-finals. He is also polite and gentle and accepts defeats well. This is why he is my favourite player.- Glassea
Akira Sendoh - It is enjoyable watching Sendoh playing basketball. Besides, Sendoh is one of few characters in the story know how to appreciate things other than basketball, such as fishing and thinking.-

Hanamichi Sakuragi - I like Hanamichi Sakuragi because he is a prime example of a hardworker.His potential was first found by a pretty girl in school.He has that burning urge in him to be the best there is.He was once a beginner trying to rediscover himself in the field of basketball because of a girl,and somehow he found himself to be the "Rebound King".He has tried to climb from the floor and he has succeeded on reaching his goals.He has taken every hard step with courage and sheer determination. He has some funny jokes and he really touched the team with laughter and with his naughty attitude.He was the joy and life of the team.He may be a joker at times but once you touched a certain part of his emotions,he is the ever determined and serious Sakuragi.- shohoku fan
Haruko Akagi - I chose Haruko because she is one of those people who really looks deeper in one's personality. She sees Hanamichi as a beginner with hope and not as a stupid old nutcase. She can see one's determination and potentials. Akira Sendoh - Challenges on the basketball court bring out the best in this star player of Ryonan High, and his confidence never wavers during the competition, even though things may not look good for his team. He puts team work behind personal achievement, and always passes the ball to the member in the best position to score. Every move, every passing, every dribble, every slamdunk - he always displays such skill and grace. And he always tackles his opponents with such confidence and tenacity. Wow! He's the best player ever, and he never loses his cool! And outside the court, his laid back attitude never fails to charm. What charisma! He should have been the star in Slamdunk!-

Hanamichi Sakuragi - sakuragi is so cute.but it's not why i like him.he's so strong. never give up although he knew that rokawa is the best player in shohoku.maybe rokawa is the best player in shohoku,but thats because he use to play basketball while he's still in secondary school.but...if sakuragi has experience in playing basketball...maybe he can be better than rokawa...or maybe...the best player in kanakawa.and i think all the people who always under estimate sakuragi is blind.and i think haroko should fall in love with sakuragi and not rokawa.i think all those girl fall in love with rokawa because he's already a good player.like i already wrote,if sakuragi is the best basketball player,maybe all the girl will fall in love with him.- sara
Kenji Fujima - mitsui is just awesome. at first when i saw the first match between shohoku and shoyo i thought that hanagata and mitsui were perfect tag team. i also like howmitsui reserves is energy until absolutely necessary. and when he sees that his team is in trouble he knows that its time for him to enter the game. and whenever he enters he brings the score closer each time, this shows how important he is to the team.(i'm sure rukawa had a headace playing misui)- jiefei

Hanamichi Sakuragi - I'm a big fan of Slam Dunk, and i like how he Sakuragi play basketball, and i also think the way he play basketball is like Dennis Rodman on the Bulls' team. and i love Dennis Rodman- Terry Chang
Kiminobu Kogure - He is the one who helps to build up the confidence of the team when the team is losing or tensed. Though he doesn't play a lot in matches, he practises hard as a reserve. Takenori Akagi - He may not be good looking, but he has a solid character and an intelligent mind. Reliable. Honest. True. Why do we always tend to judge people by appearance? He has strong will, he has tender heart, he has righteous soul-----what more can we ask from a man? Hanamichi Sakuragi - Sakuragi is a guy who refuse to admit his weakness and has a BIG EGO. The thing in Hanamichi that attracted me is his stubborness in doing things and confidence in himself. Despite he only started playing basketball for three months, he is never discouraged by the domineering strength of his opponents and faced them with his EGO. Although this may not be a desirable character in the big bad world, this is really a very cute, natural protrayal of a simple guy who go all out for a girl at first and then for his newly discovered love - BASKETBALL!!!!!!- vivian

Hanamichi Sakuragi - Hanamichi is the key character to the success of slam duck. This over-optimistic, incredible self-confident genius is written in the very right position in the whole comic. Other players may possess some commom characteristics, like strong, skillful, nice-looking, and so on and so forth, but solely he holds a different personality, which is able to make a basketball game more excited. The "worm-like" personality making a game a real game is really amazing, even in the real NBA world - just like the current Dallas Maverick. I personally think that Slam Duck can be considered as one of the most outstanding comics in last decade. -ccy, Texas-

Kaede Rukawa - What up my Niggas!!!All the fans of the Slam Dunk, of Takehiko Inoue. I'm the true Kaede Rukawa. I had my old hair last month, just like Rukawa. But, I had cutted off because, it was so long and reach my libs. When I first read Slam Dunk, I saw Rukawa was one of the most popular player in Kanagawa, Japan. I was named the most inspirational boy's basketball player at Francisco middle school during the 1999-2000 season, just what Rukawa was named during our junior high. I played like Rukawa but, I'm not quiet as he is. This took place in S.F. California in the U.S.A., and in 8th grade. I'm only 179cm in summer high school August 2000 now. But, he's 187cm freshman in high school. Now, I'm just like Sendoh. Hanamichi Sakuragi - I like this crazy nut head because, he acts crazy like a monkey. He starts playing basketball when he first arrived to Shohoku High. Ryota Miyagi - Ryota Miyagi is perfect for the position of the point guard as he has a role in encouraging his teamates. He has great skills and speed. Even though he had joined the basketball team for Ayako, he still enjoys the team and the sport. Even though he looks weak, he is actually tough on the outside. Akira Sendoh - Akira Sendoh's fair and sportsmanship attitude towards all the games provides encouragement to all his teamates. His smiling and friendly attitude shows his nice and caring personality. Especially his sick haircut!! He is always energetic and never seems to give up in every match. Kaede Rukawa - He so charming, fantastic, cool, though people would accuse him as the man without personality, he is surely the man with girls gravity. I mean look at him. Akira Sendoh - He's a sweet, optimistic person that doesn't care much about winning and losing as some. He's a great player He's sweet, calm, and not self-centered. He's an ideal guy, and good looking too at least for a cartoon character. He's fabulous the only other person that I can think of that can match up to him is Rukawa. And I usually don't even like sports but this show is GREAT- True fan
Akira Sendoh - I think that he is a very great player with lots of potential. He would make a great leader too as he is always calm and clear-headed. Hanamichi Sakuragi - I think Sakuragi is the best character because he is serious and funny at the same time. Also, because he is the struggling and prevailing character of the series. Respect towards his coach, devotion for the sport and friendly approach towards team mates ...all make him one great player with sportmanship.It was brave of him to come back to basketball. The 2 years of rest didn't cause his skills to deteriorate ...instead he retained those good qualities which made him the MVP back in younger days. Hanamichi Sakuragi - Sakuragi is kewl because he jumps like Jordan, and he fights like Van Damme or Bruce Lee. He's strong and humillates any opponent, either in b-ball or in fighting. He's an excellent rebounder too. Sakuragi Yeah!- D.J. ChriisMan

Hisashi Mitsui - His three point shoots are always so good, and even though he had once stopped playing, basketball was always in his heart. I admire his courage and determination.- cc
Kaede Rukawa - He's handsome, quiet, & most important of all, he's cool! He's a very good player. He's not out to attract attention like Sakuragi. Rukawa simply loved basketball. His passion for the game simply overules everything else.- Tweety
Kaede Rukawa - Because his basketball skills are very good adn he remains at his cool when things are not going their way. As a silent player, he keeps improving himself and made himself practise more even though it was enough for him.- Stephanie
Kiminobu Kogure - He is the best. Even Sendoh said he is the best. He has everything everyboby else has. Not even Rukawa can handle him. He is one reason why the team is so good. Kenji Fujima - I like Kenji Fujima because he is a very good person. He coaches the team by him self though the other players are about a head taller than he is and he is very encouraging to the players. He has very good strategy and has a very calm disposition. I didn't really see the show, but in the manga comics, i could tell that he is also a very good player. And on the plus side, he's hot- Xune
Kaede Rukawa - Because, when I first time saw him on SLAM DUNK, than I like him. I thought he was a cool person, and got a lots fans. I thought Kaede would be the No.1 player on Japan. I would always on his side forever as I love him...- Ah Feng
