He was the equivalent of Rukawa in the Ryonan team during his first year. He enters the story as a second year player who has matured and plays with control, unlike the less experienced Rukawa, he reserves his energy until necessary. During the first friendly match with Shohoku, he did not go all out until he realized that Shohoku was not that simple to handle.
