Haruko Akagi

She is the younger sister of Takenori Akagi. Haruko has always been interested in basketball from a very young age, but does not really have the capacity to play as well as she would like, therefore, she enjoyed watching other great players such as her brother. Her interest in basketball led her to discover new talent, such as Hanamichi.
She was the one who found Hanamichi’s potential. She is the reason why Hanamichi is playing basketball by constantly supporting his efforts. At times of despair she was the one to encourage him; Hanamichi was frustrated because he wasn’t scoring nearly as many points as Rukawa, she explained his great value as a top rebounder and made him feel proud of it.
